Michelle Marks
Michelle began her career at Skidmore Owings and Merrill, one of the world's leading architecture firms in technically and environmentally advanced design, where she collaborated on projects by renowned Mexican Architect Ricardo Legorreta, creating interiors and designing custom furniture, carpets, fabrics, casework, and lighting. After SOM Michelle moved on to developing her own clientele, working primarily on high-end residential projects and not looking back.
Always looking for inspiration, Michelle has travelled extensively throughout the world. Whether creating a nightclub/cafe/art gallery in an old fish cannery outside of Rotterdam, cruising up the Yangtze River in a dilapidated cruise ship witnessing the last days of pre-boom China, or dragging her rollies through the Patagonian’ Torres Del Paine National Park looking for a barn to sleep in, Michelle treasures adventure and serendipity.
A California native, Michelle grew up in a household that was both artistic and intellectually inspired. The daughter of a fine artist and an aerospace engineer, Michelle was surrounded by the love of art, design, and intellectual inquiry. This foundation, coupled with a life of artistic exploration, world travel, and living abroad, brings Michelle to whom she is today: a designer whose work is elegant, warm, and informed, flowing effortlessly through different styles and aesthetics. While Michelle finds her roots in mid-century design, she also brings influences from her interest in architectural history, classical sculpture and painting, and her travels to imbue each project with an original, evolving spirit.
Michelle graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach Department of Design and a BFA in Architectural Interiors.

Her film work has won numerous awards, including Cannes Film Festival Golden Lion award and Adweek’s iconic Commercial of the Decade: Aaron Burr’s Got Milk.
